Online Blackjack – Look for the winning edge

Trying to gain an edge in any game that you play in an internet casino is important to try and maximize your winnings, but in online Blackjack, perhaps it’s more crucial than you might think.

For the uninitiated, Blackjack of all kinds, not just online Blackjack is considered a game of chance, more about luck than judgement.  Others say that it’s one of the few games, in which it is possible to have a fair crack at the House.  This doesn’t mean that this is in any way a foolproof guide to consistently beating the casino, but by playing the odds you can try and minimize your losses.

Playing the odds brings me neatly to a useful piece of advice.  It really pays to know in online Blackjack what you’re up against, particularly in terms of what the odds are at different stages of the game.  For example, a natural Blackjack (i.e. 21 in the first two cards dealt) will pay out at 3:2 (assuming that the House doesn’t also have a natural 21).

Knowing when to fold, or just as importantly not to hit in online Blackjack is pretty important.  Some players say that they always hold when they hit 17 or more, others will ask for an extra card when they have anything below 16.  See what feels right for you, which is only something that you can achieve through playing online Blackjack repeatedly in your casino.
